Vacuum Pump Interceptors

Vacuum Pump Interceptors

All vacuum pumps have low tolerance when it comes to contamination. The Interceptor (or vacuum tank) is the last line of defence for the integrity of the vacuum pump, and its job is to slow airflow so that any solid or liquid airborne contamination is removed or allowed to ‘drop out’. It means only clean air enters the vacuum pump. Interceptors come in a variety of sizes and styles, depending on the milking machine. Additional protection for vacuum pump contamination could include the use of in-line filters.
